Phuentshogling police recently arrested a 24-year-old man for an alleged burglary in more than twenty homes. The suspect, who is a truck driver, targeted the homes on the outskirts of Phuentshogling town between 6th and 19th of April.

The suspect targeted the houses during the daytime when the residents were not home.

According to sources, he looked for house keys under the foot mats and flower pots.

He is said to have targeted flats in areas where there was less movement of people and no security cameras.

According to complainants, the man stole cash amounting to about half a million and a mobile phone.

Meanwhile, police are urging people to avoid keeping keys in obvious places and not to keep huge amounts of cash at home.

The police also recommend people install security cameras to curb such incidences.

The case is being investigated.

Phuentshogling police reported 13 burglary cases this year until yesterday.
