Good news for sports enthusiasts in Haa. The much-awaited multi-sports hall in the district is expected to complete by the end of this month. With the completion of the two-storey indoor multi-sports hall, the district expects to attract sports enthusiasts not only from the district but also from across the country.

Once complete, the multi-sports facility will have badminton, basketball, volleyball, and tennis among other sports. Sports enthusiasts in the district say their woes of finding a place to play will come to an end.

“We are fortunate to have got this opportunity to have such a facility in the district. We are grateful for that,” said Kencho, a sports enthusiast.

“We have been playing in the school’s playgrounds and IMTART colony. It has been challenging and time-consuming. However, with the completion of the multi-sports facility, we can go and play any time,” said Ugyen Thinley, another sports enthusiast.

The construction of the multi-sports hall worth over Nu 30 M started in 2020 as an 18-month project. The pandemic delayed the construction.
