The people of Gasa have nominated two aspiring candidates for the National Council Elections. Only two out of the district’s four Gewogs had aspiring candidates during the Dhamngoi Zomdu. Both the Dhamngoi Zomdus in the district were held last week.

48-year-old Tshering in Khatoed Gewog is the lone aspiring candidate. He is from Chholey village and he secured 101 yes and two no votes.

And the incumbent member of the National Council Dorji Khandu from Lungo village is the nominee from Laya Gewog. The 36-year-old secured 104 yes votes and one no vote.

Khamaed and Lunana Gewogs did not have any aspiring candidates.

Gasa has more than 2,200 eligible registered voters and over 300 voters turned up for the Dhamngoi Zomdu.
