In the ongoing Asian Cricket Council Challenger Cup in Bangkok, Thailand, Bhutan lost its second group match against Iran by 50 runs today.

Iran elected to bat first after winning the toss. The Bhutanese bowlers managed to restrict Iran to 150 runs. Ranjung Mikyo Dorji and Tenzin Wangchuk grabbed two wickets each. While batting, Bhutan was bowled out for 100 runs, falling 50 runs short off the target. Only Gakul Kumar Ghalley and Tashi Phuntsho managed to score above 20 runs. In the other group match, the Maldives suffered a 292-run defeat to Bahrain.

Bhutan will now take on the Maldives in a must-win match on Tuesday and hope that Bahrain will inflict a heavy defeat on Iran to have any chance of making the semi-finals.
