The three-day annual Punakha Goen-Wang Dromchoe began at the Punakha Dzong today. The Dorji Lopen of the Zhung Dratshang is presiding over the Dromchoe.
The Dromchoe was performed behind closed doors for the past three years due to the Covid pandemic.
Thousands of devotees, including tourists gathered at the Punakha Dzong courtyard to witness the Dromchoe. The Dromchoe will conclude on Tuesday by demonstrating the disposal of Rangjung Kharsapani into the MoChhu River.
