The Annual Wangduephodrang Tshechu began today at Tencholing Military Training center Ground of Royal Bhutan Army. Thousands of people came to witness the Tshechu. They also showed their support for the reconstruction of Wangdue Dzong. Wangdue Dzong was razed to the ground in June this year and most of the materials used for Tshechu were lost to the fire.
Today, the dancers wore new dresses for the festival adding new colour and vigour to the event. The Tshechu was possible because of financial support from people in the locality, Punatshangchhu Hydroelectric Project Authority and Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators.
