The Ministry of Labour and Human Resources has proposed to increase the minimum wage rate for the National Work Force to Nu 460. The current minimum wage rate for the National Work Force is Nu 215.

According to the Labour Minister, the proposal was submitted to the Finance Ministry in April this year. However, he said the proposal has been put on hold for now due to budget constraints and that the wage rate will be increased when the country’s economy improves.

According to the Labour Ministry, there are around 2,800 individuals in the National Work Force.
