Bhutan has established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Slovenia. The Joint communiqué’ on the establishment of the diplomatic relations was signed yesterday between the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations in New York, Lhatu Wangchuk and the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Nations in New York, Sanja Stiglic in New York.
At the signing, the two ambassadors expressed the interest of their governments to cooperate closely in the bilateral and multilateral fields. They also expressed the desire to further deepen the present level of cooperation between the two countries at the United Nations and at other multilateral forums.
Slovenia is the 41st country with which Bhutan has established diplomatic relations.
