Insulating homes can significantly cut down firewood, fuel and electricity consumption according to experts. Insulating homes or building an energy-efficient house is a fairly new concept in Bhutan. To promote the concept and the technique required to insulate a home, the Chhumey Technical Training Institute in Bumthang recently built a model structure of a Bhutanese-style energy-efficient home. The Labour Secretary unveiled the Nu 3 M structure last week.
