The Prime Minister, Dr Lotay Tshering, hints at re-contesting the upcoming National Assembly election. Lyonchhen shared this opinion during the virtual Meet The Press, held this afternoon. A couple of months back, rumours were rife that the Prime Minister was bidding adieu to his political career and hence not going to contest for the second term.
Recalling the acceptance speech on becoming the President of Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT) during the 2018 party convention, Lyonchhen said his stand then was that he will not re-contest if he does not bring about the desired changes within the first term of the governance.
