TashiCell, Bhutan’s second largest cell company has its core network in Thimphu. It has constructed international and domestic transmission network over optical fiber, satellite and radio and now has a total of 190 transmission stations spread across the length and breadth of the country. Other includes customer care centers in 11 locations and 2,432 outlets among others.

The Managing Director of Tashi InfoComm Ltd, Tashi Tshering, said works were completed ahead of time as per the mandate set in the license. According to the license, they had to cover 20 Dzongkhags by October 2013.

“Now our immediate plan is to roll out 3G network.  Our target is to start it by second quarter next year.
