The 200-bedded Quarantine Facility in Gelephu will now be used as a Workforce Management Centre. The Sarpang district handed over the facility to the Labour ministry today.

The Quarantine Facility was constructed last year to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

The centre will process work permits and other necessary services such as medical screening and opening saving account among others for foreign workers.

The centre is expected to facilitate the entry of foreign workers in an efficient, organised and systematic manner through the point of entry to their worksites.
