The 138-seater Air Bus which was bought on lease by Drukair landed at Paro International Airport yesterday. Upon arrival at the airport, the officials on board were received by Lam Neten of Paro Rabdey, and Drukair officials. The monks then performed a Tashi Ngasol.

The three years old leased aircraft was bought from Greece. It will be used till 2015 until Drukair receives a new aircraft. Drukair has to pay US$ 400,000 per month as the lease amount.

The Chief Executive Officer of Drukair says, since the additional aircraft has more carrying capacity it will reduce traffic problems during tourist seasons. It is also expected to help Drukair while it introduces new routes to Mumbai and Hongkong.

Drukair currently has three Air Buses and an ATR.
