Close to 1,100 graduates will sit for the Bhutan Civil Service Examination (BCSE) this year.  From a total of about 2,400 graduates who appeared for the examination more than half of the graduates did not qualify for the BCSE.  The result was declared by the RCSE on Friday.

The Commission during its 150th Meeting had decided the cut-off point at 53 percent. As per RCSC, the preliminary exam is conducted to test the minimum standard required of a candidate to appear for the main examination.

From the three categories, Dzongkha, General and Technical, the highest percentage of students who qualified was from the technical category with 68 percent followed by the General category with 50 percent and then Dzongkha category with just 13 percent.

According to the commission, there are about 600 vacancies. The figure has increased vacancies for teaching and technical graduates.

The Bhutan Civil Service examination is scheduled for mid October
