The Bhutan Council for School Examinations and Assessment declared the results of the Bhutan Higher Secondary Education Certificate (BHSEC) class XII examination for the academic year 2021, today. The overall pass percentage stands at 82 per cent, a decrease of about nine per cent from the previous year. Almost 14,000 class XII students appeared for the examination.
Abin Chapagai from Damphu Central School topped the Science stream with 91.75 per cent. In the Commerce category, Choni Yoezer Dorji from Karma Academy topped with 88.5 per cent. Chimi Selden, also a student of Karma Academy topped the Arts stream with 87.75 per cent. Jamtsho from Taktse Central School topped the Language and Culture Studies certificate examination with 85.5 per cent.
“I am extremely happy with the result announcement today because I was able to fulfil the dreams that I had from the beginning of the year. For this achievement, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all my teachers and my parents for helping and supporting me throughout this academic year,” said Abin Chapagai of Damphu Central School, science topper.
“I am very happy with my results and I don’t think this could have been possible without the help of my teachers, my parents, my relatives, and everyone who is involved in my thirteen years of schooling. So I would like to thank everyone for making this happen,” said Pema Yangchen of Mongar HSS, third topper in Commerce stream.
“I am very happy to have bagged the third position. I have never thought I will be able to achieve it. For this, I would like to thank the teachers of Desi High School, my parent and my classmates,” said Kinzang Choden of Desi High School, third LCSC topper.
Over 93 per cent of the science students have passed the exam, followed by 83 per cent in the Arts stream and 75 per cent in the Commerce stream. There are 80 Higher Secondary Schools in the country.
