Six students and five teachers of Chamgmey Primary School in Shongphu under Trashigang have tested positive for Influenza A.

The cases were confirmed after Doctors and health personnel from Trashigang hospital collected blood samples of 20 students and teachers yesterday and carried out a lab test.

Health officials said the 11 confirmed blood samples will be sent to the public health laboratory in Thimphu to test for H1N1 influenza.

Our reporter in Trashiang Pema Namgay who is at the school at the moment says the situation is stable and that the school and dzongkhag authorities and health officials are monitoring the situation closely.
