Samtse alone recorded over 530 COVID-19 cases from three different schools in containment mode earlier this month. For once, this worried many parents, teachers, and residents here. However, today all of them have completed their week-long isolation and have shown no flu-like symptoms. Therefore, all of them were released from their containment areas to their respective homes today.

Completing the 10 days of isolation in Samtse College of Education, students and teachers of Samtse Higher Secondary School headed out for their respective homes today. Although no further tests were conducted, the school management said that all of them are fine with no flu-like symptoms.

However, all students and teachers were briefed to stay under home quarantine for at least a week. The school had over a hundred positive cases.

Likewise, over 300 students of Dorokha Central School in Dorokha also left for their respective homes today. The school principal said apart from finding a few volunteers for cooking purposes, the school did not face any other problems in managing the huge COVID cases in the school.

As of Gomtu Higher Secondary School who were in containment at Dorokha Lower Secondary School, they left the containment earlier last week.

The school reported the first case of COVID from schools in containment in Samtse. Samtse had seven schools functioning under strict containment mode.
