FCB stops importing green chillies due to high pesticide content

Food Corporation of Bhutan stopped importing chillies on Tuesday. According to the corporation, the chillies had high pesticides content. However, the Agriculture Minister said the corporation cannot stop the import without prior approval from the ministry. Bhutan imported chillies worth more than Nu 26 M this year. It is an interim measure to ensure availability and curb illegal imports.
