A fire burned down the attic of a three-storied building at Zilukha in Thimphu today. The incident occurred at 5:15 this morning. The family reportedly lost nearly 70 per cent of their belongings to the fire, which is believed to have been started from a wood-fed stove, Bukhari. Police from the Fire Service Division arrived five minutes after the incident and had the fire under control by 6:30 AM.

In a similar incident, a duplex house at Begana in Thimphu was razed to the ground last night. The family lost all their belongings in the fire accident except for a few household items. However, Police said that the owner had insured the house. The fire is suspected to have been started from a Bukhari. Fire Police and DeSuups contained the fire.
