The task force in Phuentshogling lifted the three-day lockdown this morning. More than 2,000 samples were collected during the period tested negative except for one DeSuup. The DeSuup deployed for duty at the main entry gate stay in a containment center near the gate along with 15 others.

Desuup is responsible for briefing the foreign workers and Bhutanese returnees on COVID-19 safety precautions and quarantine protocols.

Officials said the risk of community transmission from him is very low since the DeSuup works in a strict containment mode and all his colleagues tested negative yesterday.

Although the second phase relaxation has been initiated, some restrictions are still in place in Phuentshogling. People are requested to follow health safety protocols strictly.

Phuentshogling imposed a lockdown on Friday after a woman, an expatriate, who worked in a restaurant tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
