The Druk Zakar App now has an audio feature that will strengthen the country’s aim in creating an inclusive society. The updated version of the App was launched on Thursday by the Tshogi Lopen and the Secretary of Dratshang Lhentshog, the Council for the Monastic Affairs of Bhutan.

The Dratsang Lhentshog in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications launched the updated version of the Druk Zakar App this morning in Thimphu.

According to the Vice-principal of the College for Astrology at Pangrizampa, Sonam Rinchen, the latest version of the app is intended to promote equality among people, particularly among persons who are living with disabilities.

“People can listen to the Zakar and moreover, this new update will provide additional details regarding the Zakar,” he said.

The app was first developed in 2015. Since then it has been one of the most used apps by Bhutanese with more than 50,000 subscribers.
