An aspiring gup candidate from Lhuentse could not file his nomination for the upcoming local government election due to his past criminal record. He did not get his security clearance. The candidate is from Minjey Gewog. Lhuentse will now have 23 candidates vying for the post of gup in its eight gewogs.

Meanwhile, three Tshogpa candidates from Monggar were disqualified as they were registered members of political parties.

Tshogpa candiates from Zangkhar and Dramedtse-Shaphangma chiwogs of Dramedtse Gewog were PDP members. And a tshogpa candidate from Changshing chiwog in Thangrong Gewog was DPT member. Their nominations were scrutinized yesterday.
