Gasa has 10 Gup candidates and 11 Mangmi candidates for the upcoming local government election. All the candidates are male. Most of the candidates are from a monastic education background and two are university graduates.

From four gewogs in Gasa, three former Gups participated in Dhamngoi Zomdu or selection procedure. And two were selected.

Two former Mangmis will also compete for the post for Gup.

Meanwhile, the former Gup of Khamaed Gewog did not participate.

And the choice is plenty when it comes to Mangmi. There are 11 candidates including two former Mangmis contesting the election.

Only 1,055 registered voters took part in Dhamngoi Zomdu. There are over 2,100 registered voters in the Gasa.
