The Police in Punakha have completed their investigation of the recent deceptive practice and forgery case. It has now been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.

Five suspects were arrested about two weeks ago for hiring vehicles from private individuals and then selling them using forged documents. The police recovered about twenty seven vehicles. The case first came to light after one of the owners met a stranger with his car claiming to have bought the vehicle from another person.

After he reported it to the police, a number of similar complaints started to pour in. All the five suspects are still under custody.
