For paddy growers of Tang Gewog in Bumthang, rice comes only after months of exhausting battle with birds. Farmers ward off the birds with various methods. But that demands a person to remain in the fields chasing birds for months. Among the birds, the main culprits are the wild sparrows. This nuisance has in a way affected the farmers in expanding paddy cultivation.
