HH appoints Principal and Lam

His Holiness the Je Khenpo appointed a new Principal of Dolung Sherab Yoesel Choling Goenzin Dratshang in Wangdue Phodrang and a Lam of Tsholingkhar Lhakhang in Tsirang, today. His Holiness conferred Tashi Lekdhar to the appointees at His Holiness’s residence in Lungtenphu, Thimphu this morning.

30-year-old Sonam Tobgay from Wangdue Phodrang is the new Principal of Dolung Sherab Yoesel Choling Goenzin Dratshang in Khotokha. He started his monastic education at the age of eight at Wangdue Phodrang Rabdey. Prior to his current appointment, he managed a Buddhist Centre abroad.

Similarly, 34-year-old Lhawang Dorji Tamang from Samdrup Jongkhar is the new Lam of Tsholingkhar Lhakhang in Tsirang. He graduated from Sherubtse College with a Bachelors Degree in English and Environmental Studies in 2011. He then joined Kanglung Shedra and Tago Dorden Tashithang Buddhist University in Thimphu. Prior to his current post, he had been rendering social service to the Lhotsham community in the southern part of the country.
