The nation’s football sensation, Chencho Gyeltshen or CG7 as he is more popularly known, will now play for Kerala Blasters Football Club. He will be with the Indian club, which plays in the country’s top tier of football – the Indian Super League, for a year.

Kerala Blasters FC was established in 2014 during the inaugural season of the Indian Super League. It is one of the most widely supported clubs in Asia.

“I still have one year contract left with Round Glass Punjab. One of my agents told me that Kerela Blasters FC was interested in me and he asked if I can make an arrangement between the two clubs. I said I had no problem if the two clubs come to a mutual agreement. Everything went very well. I paid some transfer fee to Round Glass Punjab and now I am going to Kerela Blasters. Like myself, I think most of my Bhutanese supporters are equally excited because all of them here at home can watch the ISL on TV. This makes me happy and excited”.
