The first-ever national online chess championship was held today. Nearly 70 people including four females from across the country took part in the competition.
And 30-year-old Bhakta Bdr. Monggar, a civil engineer wins the championship.
The competition was held using the Lichess app platform. The Bhutan Chess Club organized the event with technical support from the Israeli chess club Chess4All and the Israeli Foreign Ministry. The competition was live-streamed through the video chat app ZOOM.
