His Majesty appoints Dzongdags

His Majesty the King today appointed Dzongdags of four Dzongkhags at the Tashichhodzong. Appointing as the Dzongdag of Tsirang, Ngawang Pem, becomes the first woman Dzongdag. Pemba Wangchuk is appointed Dzongdag of Chhukha. Tshewang Rinzin is appointed Dzongdag of Trongsa. Dawala was appointed Dzongdag of Sarpang.

Article 2, section 19 (q) of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan states that the Druk Gyalpo shall, by warrant under His hand and seal, appoint the dzongdags on the recommendation of the Prime Minister who shall obtain nominations from the Royal Civil Service Commission.
