The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a 200-bedded facility quarantine in Gelegphu was held today. Located behind the old workshop near the border gate under Namkhaling Demkhong in Gelegphu Thromde, the construction will be carried out on three acres of land.
A total of 175 personnel from the Royal Bhutan Army and DeSuung will execute the construction work. The construction work is expected to complete within two months. Officials said that the 200-bedded facility quarantine would ease the shortage of quarantine facilities in Gelegphu. Presently outbound travellers to low-risk districts are quarantined in hotels.
