A ranger dies in accident

A 31-year-old man died on the spot in an accident last evening near Punakha Dzong parking. The incident occurred at around 6:15 pm. The deceased is a park ranger at Jigme Dorji National Park under Gasa Dzongkhag.

The incident could have occurred while the deceased was overtaking a truck. He sustained head and lower abdomen injuries.

The truck driver is under police custody at Punakha for interrogation. The cause of the accident is not known and case is under investigation.
