His Majesty grants Dhar to appoint Ambassador-designate and Dzongdas

His Majesty The King granted Dhar to the newly appointed Paro and Trashi Yangtse Dzongdas and Ambassador-designate to Australia at the Golden Throne room in Tashichhodzong today.

Sonam Tobgay, the former director of the department of bilateral affairs in the foreign affairs ministry is the new Bhutan’s Ambassador-designate to Australia. The Bhutanese embassy in Australia located in Canberra is a new embassy office established considering the need to provide services to an increasing number of Bhutanese people residing in Australia.

Karma Thinley, the former director of the Department of Prevention and Education in the Anti Corruption Commission has been appointed as the new Paro Dzongda.

And Babu Ram Sherpa, serving as a specialist at the Department of Adult and Higher Education under the Education Ministry is the new Tashi Yangtse Dzongda.

In accordance with Article 2, section 19 of the Constitution, His Majesty The King appoints Ambassadors and Dzongdas on the recommendation of the Prime Minister who obtains nominations from the Royal Civil Service Commission.
