A video recording of the landslide that claimed two lives at Pekarzhing went viral on social media yesterday. A relative of the deceased recorded and uploaded the video at around 6 AM yesterday. However, the woman uploaded another video today apologizing to the public for posting incomplete information.

The landslide which occurred at around 1:30 AM yesterday took the lives of a 39-year-old mother and her seven-month-old son.

In the first video, the woman claimed that despite the landslide claiming two lives, neither the police nor Desuups came for help.

According to the police, they received the information at around 2:00 AM and reached the site within 20 minutes. However, an ambulance couldn’t reach the site due to a roadblock between Rinchending and Pekarzhing. So a private vehicle was used to carry the deceased to the roadblock. Police, family members and officials helped reach the victims to the hospital. According to sources, the child died on the spot and the mother died on the way to the hospital.

It is learnt that the deceased’s husband was told that police and Desuups would come to help move their belongings to a safer place at 8 AM. But the woman posted the video on social media before the officials reached the site.

In today’s video, the woman explained that she posted the video in a state of shock following the incident to verify what she was sharing. In the video, she also thanked everyone who came for help.
