Heavy rainfall for the past few days has triggered flooding in some parts of Sarpang and Gelephu. The rain fed rivers and streams have broken banks and have flooded the Bhutan gate, Royal Bhutan Police staff quarters, workshop area and the nearby houses.

Families living in the area have been evacuated with the help from police and the youth working for police youth partnership programme.

The rain water has also entered the Lodrai jail and family quarters.
