Ambassadors make farewell call on PM

The Ambassadors of Finland, the Netherlands and Norway to Bhutan made a joint farewell call on the Prime Minister, Jigmi Y. Thinley, at Gyalyong Tshogkhang today.

Lyonchhoen congratulated the Ambassadors for successful completion of their tenure and thanked them for their constructive role in deepening relations between Bhutan and the three countries.

Lyonchhoen also thanked them for their valuable support especially in the area of development assistance rendered to Bhutan over the years.

Ambassador of Finland, Teri Hakala, Ambassador of the Netherlands, Bob Henry Hiensch and Ambassador of Norway Ann Ollestad, arrived in the country on June 8 for the farewell meeting.

The leaders spoke of, among others, Bhutan’s initiative to elaborate the new development paradigm based on sustainable well-being and happiness, Bhutan’s aspiration for a non permanent seat in the UN Security Council and UN’s recent declaration of World Happiness Day.
