Thimphu police detained a 36-year-old man for the alleged rape of a 23-year-old woman in Thimphu recently. He was arrested after the woman reported the incident to the police.
As per reports, prior to the incident the woman reportedly asked for Nu 3,000 when the suspect asked her to sleep with him while they were drinking in a bar. She then allegedly took his mobile phone and went home. And according to reports, the suspect went to her home. When the woman did not open the door, the suspect entered the house from a window and allegedly raped her.
The police are going to forward the case to the Office of Attorney General soon.
