Police in Thimphu have arrested 15 individuals for their alleged involvement in gambling cases.

Suspects were apprehended after receiving information from anonymous sources about their gambling engagement. They were caught from different places on different instances. They are civil servants, taxi drivers, and homemakers.

Police officials said they are now receiving information from the public about gambling cases and will seriously deal with the issue as per the law.

According to the Penal Code of Bhutan 2014, the defendant found guilty will be sentenced to the maximum of one year or 12 months prison term.
