Dorji Lopen of the Central Monastic Body appointed Pasang as the new Lam of Bjilegang Lhakhang today. Along with the Lam appointment, a monastic school consisting of seven monks was also instituted.
Lam Pasang from Chhubu Gewog in Punakha started his monastic education at the age of nine from Pung-Thrim Dratshang. Prior to this appointment, he was a teacher at the Dechenphodrang monastic school.
The Lhakhang was earlier owned privately but now it is handed over to the Central Monastic Body.
