Merag and Sagteng Gewogs in lockdown after two tested positive

Merag and Sagteng Gewogs under Trashigang are under complete lockdown after two individuals tested positive for COVID-19 in Merag earlier today. Contact tracing is ongoing in Merag and Sagteng Gewog and in Trashigang.

They were detected with the virus during routine testing for people returning from high-risk areas. Around 57 herders from Merag and Sagteng were returning from Shingkhar. The herders are in strict home quarantine.

The two patients were moved to the isolation ward in Monggar Regional referral hospital, today. And they are reported to be in stable condition.

Meanwhile, movement restriction is imposed in Trashigang and Rangjung towns and the northern part of the district as a few people from Merag has entered Trashigang.
