A man in his mid fifties was washed away by the Sunkosh River in Karmaling Gewog in Dagana, yesterday.
The incident occurred when the three workers working for Sunkosh project were trying to cross a drilling equipment, from Nichula to Karmaling, on a bamboo raft. One of them fell in the river and was quickly swallowed by strong currents. The other one jumped in the river to save him. He was also washed away for a few meters before he could swim to safety.
The Karmaling Gup, Gyan Bahadur Subba, the one who jumped in the river to save the other worker is recuperating in the hospital. The search for the missing man continues.
