A windstorm, which lasted for about three hours, has blown off the roofings of 15 houses in six gewogs of Monggar yesterday. The incident occurred between 2:00 and 5:00 pm.
The affected gewogs are Balam, Dramedtse, Kengkhar, Thang-Rong and Shermuhoong. While most of the households reported partial damages to roofs few roofings were completely blown off by the windstorm. Gewog officials have visited the affected households to assess the damages caused and also provided necessary support to the victims. Similar incidences were also reported in the district in the past.
Meanwhile, there are no reports of any casualties.
