Budget Appropriation Bill gets NA’s approval

The National Assembly yesterday endorsed the Budget Appropriation Bill for the financial year 2012-13. The total budget for 2012-13 is estimated at Nu.33.4 billion.

Of the total budget, education sector will take up the highest budget of Nu. 6.7 billion. The second highest budget of Nu.4.5 billion will be used in Agriculture while the third highest budget of  Nu.3.7 billion will be used for construction of roads.

Besides the Bill, the National Assembly also endorsed the Supplementary Budget Appropriation Bill for the financial year 2011-12. Supplementary budget is an additional budget for development activities which are not included in the plan for the financial year.
