Without student enrollment for this academic year, Kelki School under Kanglung Gewog in Trashigang closed its doors, prematurely.

The private school has had only class XII in 2020 as there were not many students for Class XI after the government provided only tuition fees for government scholarship students. Most of the parents chose to send their children to urban private schools as day students with their relatives to reduce the financial burden of Nu 30,000 charged as boarding fees.

Kelki School was opened in March 2019 with around 300 students mostly from Trashigang and Trashi Yangtse Dzongkhags. The school has been providing Arts and Commerce stream. More than 230 students appeared in the board examination recently.

According to the proprietor, the private school was constructed with around Nu 180 M.
