To encourage social entrepreneurship culture in the country, Innovate Bhutan and UNICEF launched the Learn 2 Launch programme today. It is a seven-week long programme specialised in teaching young aspiring entrepreneurs the aspects of starting a socially responsible business.

30 young entrepreneurs are taking part in the programme.

“I think Learn to Launch is a very important program for us as young entrepreneurs. It helps us create abstract ideas into reality. It has also given us ways to connect to other key resources, “ said Osel Tenzin Tshering, one of the participants.

“Other than access to finance, some of the other challenges that entrepreneurs face is having the right mentors for us. So this is something that L2L will address. Some of the entrepreneurs need mentors in accessing finance, technology, marketing and networking also. This is something L2L will be providing,” added Kesang Om, Implementing Partner who is also the owner of Institute for Learning Solutions.

The participants have presented their business ideas and the two best ideas will be awarded Nu 200,000 each as a fund to start the business towards the end of the programme.
