The Trashigang District Court upheld the Wamrong Dungkhag Court’s judgement on the Wamrong battery and trespassing appeal case, today. The Dungkhag Court, in July, found Tshering Yangki guilty of both battery and trespassing charges. She then appealed to the District Court against the Dungkhag Court’s ruling.

Tshering Yangki was sentenced to a concurrent prison term of 18 months for battery and trespassing by the Dungkhag Court in July last year. She was also ordered to pay more than Nu 260,000 as compensation to the victim. The Court dropped the assault charges against the victim and her son.

The incident which happened on 26th April in Wamrong came into the limelight after a clip of the altercation went viral on social media.
