OAG forwards alleged conspiracy case involving three high profile people to Thimphu District Court

The Office of the Attorney General today forwarded a case to the Thimphu District Court involving three high profile people allegedly involved in a criminal conspiracy against the Royal Bhutan Army’s Chief Operations Officer.

Supreme Court Justice Kuenlay Tshering, Pema Gatshel Judge Yeshey Dorji and the former Commandant of RBG, Thinley Tobgye, have been detained by the Police.

The court denied their requests for bail today.

While the former RBG commandant was detained around two months ago, the two judges were detained yesterday.

According to sources the three had conspired to take the positions of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General and RBA’s Chief Operations Officer.

A woman is also under police custody for involvement in the case.

According to our source, the four allegedly planned to remove the present Chief Operations Officer of the RBA by bringing a fake corruption case against him.

The case came to the notice of the Police after Supreme Court Justice Kuenlay Tshering allegedly asked the police for an investigation regarding a Facebook post on the appointment of the current Chief Justice.
