A single-storey house at Tshetenang village under Kabesa Gewog in Punakha was razed to the ground, yesterday evening. There were two families living in the house. They lost all their belongings to the fire accident.

There was no report of causality since there was no one in the house during the incident.

According to a source, the cause of the fire is suspected to be from an electric short circuit. The concerned officials from the dzongkhag and the local government leaders conducted the site examination today.

His Majesty’s Royal Semso of Nu 10,000 each and some basic essentials were handed over to the victims through the Dzongkhag Kidu Office.

Tshetenang village is located 21 kilometres away from the Punakha Dzong.
