Officials from the Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA) intercepted 487.5 kilograms of green chillies from the Mini Dry Port (MDP) in Phuentshogling while transhipping, last evening.Officials found the chillies concealed in sacks of brinjals. A vegetable vendor from Thimphu allegedly imported the chillies.
The person will be fined Nu 770,250 which is 10 times the current market value of Nu 158 a kilogram.
