Although the nationwide lockdown has interrupted the academic session for classes IX to XII yet again, education will continue. The education ministry has directed the districts and thromdes to maintain continuity through online teaching and learning.

According to the Education Minister Jai Bir Rai, day-scholars will continue online classes while boarding students will study in self-containment mode.

‘‘Syllabuses for those classes are 95.23 percent complete, which also assures that most schools have completed the syllabus by now,’’ said the minister.

The minister also added although it is disheartening that some students have contracted the virus, they should not worry about the education. ‘‘Most of them are class 12 students, but we have already arranged counselors for them. The ministry will make sure that they are not left behind,’’ said the minister.

However, if the situation does not improve, the examination might also get postponed.

Meanwhile, around 68,000 students studying in classes PP to VIII are on vacation after the result declaration on 18th December.
