The Royal Monetary Authority facilitated the exchange of Bhutanese currency to Indian currency for traders of Mela Bazaar and Garage in India. More than 100 Indian traders availed the services at the Samdrup Jongkhar border gate yesterday.
Bank of Bhutan officials in Samdrup Jongkhar collected about Nu 30 M from the Indian traders which will be deposited back to the respective Indian bank accounts. And earlier this year, bank officials in Samdrup Jongkhar made it possible for the Indian merchants to exchange around Nu 25 M to Indian currency.
